The Church Choir at Aston Ingham differs from many church choirs in that it does not sing regularly at weekly services but, in a sense, is a ‘special’ choir whose members come together for the monthly service of Evensong on the first Sunday of each month and perhaps three or four important festivals in the Church’s year - for example Easter, Harvest and Christmas - and also on other occasions such as weddings, etc.

At present the choir has about twenty members, who meet in the Church on Monday evenings from 6.45 to 7.30 p.m. for the five or six weeks before each of the special services at which the choir is to sing.  In general, there are no rehearsals for the monthly Evensong Service unless an anthem or other special music is to be sung.

The choir is accompanied by the Church Organist, Huw Clayton, and conducted by Choirmaster, Anthony Butcher.
As with many choirs, we are always ready to welcome new singers, and having recently lost several choir members we are particularly in need of some Tenors and Basses.  If you would like to sing some uplifting music with us we would make you very welcome.

Simply come along to a Monday rehearsal at 6.45 p.m. (we finish at about 7.30 p.m.) or, for more details, contact Tony Butcher on 01989 720478.  You can also contact Tony through the following email link - Choirmaster
