COPA - Community Partner Association is one of our Church charities.  We sponsor two children, providing Christian Education in two schools in the villages of La Hoya and Bombita in the Dominican Republic.

This charity came about after a husband and wife, Sebert and Doreen Lane, (both in the teaching profession) visited the country on holiday.  They saw a great need for children’s education in such a poor country.  COPA began and is responsible for the schools and much-needed medical facilities in these villages.  The following is an extract from a letter recently received from one of the girls we sponsor.  She is now eighteen years old and ready to go on to further education.

“I write to tell you that I am very well thanks to my lord Jesus Christ and I want to study nursing to treat children and also adults that are unwell.  I am very happy because COPA has treated me well.  When I finish my studies I want to go to other countries and work so I can meet other people.  I am a very happy person and I like to serve God.  God is good and He loves every living thing.  Thank you for helping me to finish my studies.
